New Addictions

4:59 AM Totally Andrea Proulx

I'm an avid blogosphere hopper. I love stalking blogs and learning cool new places to visit. One of my other pastimes is getting addicted to sites that provide me entertainment or a learning experience. Each Friday I will be sharing my addictions with you all here so maybe you can get addicted too.

New [Virtual Tool] Addiction

Prezi - I love making videos and presentations. I find it is the best way to showcase who I am or what I am trying to promote. When I ran across Prezi I wanted to jump up and down and clap. It's fun, silly, yet educational to those watching your presentation.

To watch my presentation visit: http://prezi.com/29596/ click "Open" then use the next arrows to navigate through it.

New [Customized News For You] Addiction

MeeHive - It's important for me to get the news. I like getting it daily to me, though I hate having to sift through all of the other stuff that does not intrigue me. MeeHive though, has resolved that for me. I am able to put in my interests and they news will be customized to me. Here are my interests:

Gossip
Real Estate
Project Runway
Space

I can add more along the way as well. Each day I can get my own personalized newspaper that has what I want on it.

New [Ways to Improve my Blog] Addictions

Twaitter - I cannot wait to spend all day using this. Twaitter is a web-based tool that allows you to schedule tweets! I can prepare announcements for Mommas Review or remember to share my best friends birthdays on Twitter. The pre-scheduling aspect is fantastic. They are also working on automatically tweeting a link to all blog posts (like RSS feeds on Twitter) so I can’t wait to try that either once they roll out with it. You can also set recurring tweets if you like to toot your own horn. This is FREE (my favorite word) up to 500 tweets.

Tr.IM
- With the new day and age of social media being kept at 140 characters or less we all need to find ways to get our blog posts out there. I learned recently that by creating an account with Tr.im that not only can you create shortened URLs but you can also track them. I can see how many people have clicked my link, where they clicked it from and I've been told even help you figure out whens the best time to post those links. Here are the graphs from a tr.im url I tested:

New [Blog] Addiction

Monkey Mayhem - I just met Jackie and immediately added her to my Google Reader. She has great reviews and giveaways and she has the most adorable header/layout ever. Go visit. Tell her what you think, and I hope you get addicted to her like I did.

Do you have some addictions that you think everyone should love too? Email me at mommasreview (at) gmail (dot) com and let me know!
