Baby Shower Game #1 - Quickest Delivery
How quick was the birth of your children? Who had the fastest delivery?
Example - My first child was born within five hours of going into labor! My second was born within four. I slept for an hour of that, though. By the time I reached the hospital it was too late for pain medication so I went natural with that delivery. - Andrea from Mommas Review
Share the story of your children(s) birth, the person with the fastest delivery will win! Game ends May 25th, be sure to comment on this post by then.

I had no idea I was in labor until my water broke. Those darn contractions could not be felt. After my water broke, though, it was a little under 7 hours before I started pushing and 20 minutes before he was born after that.
*let's hope this next baby is quick too.*

About 8 hours for Roo and maybe 6 for Jasper? You know, I didn't count or make lists for any of his baby stuff...poor second child!

Well I was induced. So I'm sure that changes things a bit, eh? LOL I will say I went from 4 cm to complete in an hours time. Wheee! Fun times.
May 12, 2009 8:34 PM
I was induced both times.
With Boug I got the cervadil at 7 pm and had her at 8:32 am... soo.... a total of 13.5 hours?
With Bud I got the cervadil at 11 pm and delivered at 12:35 pm, so thats 13.5 hours too right?
Maybe my math is off LOL, but it hurt none the less.

With my first I was talked into going to the hospital with some suspicious leaking ( I honestly thought I was peeing) They let me know I wasn't in labor but needed to be admitted because my water had broken they told me I would have a baby in the next day or too depending on when I went into labor. About 30 minutes after being admitted I had a really bad stomach ache but wasn't having contraction according to the machine. They decided to do a u/s to check the position of the baby and couldn't find her head. Everything went into a panic as the nurse checked me and I was completed and ready to push. This less than two minutes after he telling me again I wasn't in labor! She was telling me to just start pushing. I had no urge, no pain medication, no contractions, nothing. It took me 2 LONG hours of HARD pushing to deliver. It was a nightmare family could hear me screaming all the way in the waiting room, lol. So from the time that I got a upset stomach until delivery was just under 3 hours.
My second was induced to prevent a repeat of the first. I had him 8 hours and 15 minutes after the start of induction. It was a really pleasant experience.
Thanks for the entry

Mine weren't exactly short, but first was definitely the longest. 13 hours from when my water broke until she was born. Second and third were induced - each one was 5-6 hours after pitocin was started and 2 hours after water was broken.

May 13, 2009 2:16 PM

I only have 1 little monkey. I started having light contractions on christmas eve then on christmas morning at about 8:00 am they started hitting me hard. My water broke at 11:30 christmas night and I had Tay at 7:01 am the next day. I don't know when to start counting my hours...lol. From when the contraction were hard it was 23 hours and from when my water broke it was 7 1/2 hours.
May 13, 2009 3:36 PM
From beginning to end, My Labor was 43 hours....Yep. Can I get a metal for that? Started haveing contractions the night of May 3rd, He was born May 5th at supper time. The longest two days of my life. I'm sure the epidural slowed it down though.
May 13, 2009 3:50 PM
I just had my first and I had no idea what a contraction was. I woke up one morning and could not get comfortable. My husband talked me into going to the hospital. I took a shower first and blow dried my hair because I honestly didn't think this was "it.' I get there and they would not even take me back even though only one other person was in L&D triage. They eventually took me back and told me I was 8 cms! I was shocked and 3 hours later she was here. It was way easier than I ever imagined! I hope my future babies come that quick.
May 13, 2009 9:28 PM
Well, I was induced, but nothing happened, so they broke my water. Once my water broke, then I was in "active labor" for four hours.

1st child-Celtic- 12 hours exactly started aty 7:07 am had him at 7:07 pm, I had an epidural with my first and slept alot
2nd child-Sheamus - went to the hospital with labor pains, they broke my water shortly after because I was already dilated 4 cm and he was born 43 minutes later. Then I passed out and hubby freaked out! No time for any pain meds to kick in!
3rd child- Guinevere - Went to the hospital with labor pains, then the pain stopped. Labor on and off overnight, then they broke my water and she came flying out about an hour later.

with my son Demetrio I was in labor for a day or so, then ended up going to the hospital around 10 pm, had him around 3:30 the next morning. I had gone to the hospital earlier, but they said it was early labor and sent me home to relax :) Demetrio got stuck, but it was too late to do much-so his birth was pretty traumatic.
with my daughter Dejanera, I was so traumatized by Demetrio lol... I ended up having a Csection and she was out in less than an hour but not sure if that counts or not because it was a C section :)
