Post Partum Illness - Share Your Story

What got you started blogging and how long have you been doing it for?
"I started blogging after seeing an episode of Oprah. I have been journaling my life and researching tons of women health issues over the past four years. My friends call me an encyclopedia of medical info and had been telling me that I somehow needed to share it. I didn't know how to get my story out there until I saw the show. Ive been blogging for around a month now."

How would you describe your blog?
"My blog is the story of me experiencing life in the American Medical Industry over the past four years. I describe my life and symptoms after encountering some bad doctors and bad medications. I also experienced some great alternatives and a few good doctors that got me on the path to where I am today. I talk a lot about women not living the life that we really want to be living and how that can contribute to being ill. My story is a story of not giving up and you can get what you want. I thought I was going to die four years ago because of to many pills and now I am back to loving life. I'm not a hundred percent but Ill take this life that I scratched and cried for any day. There are positive things too, like the Oprah Friday's. I am also guest blogging on http://greenearthjourney.blogspot.com/ on Sundays and the post goes to my site too. This is all about living green. Then there are other random blogs about my kids and things that I experience as a mom."

What do you do when you just cannot think of something to write about?
"I have not had a problem on thinking of what to write about yet. My husband says that I have a comment for everything so I don't know if I will have a problem with this for a while."

What does your family think of your blogging??
"My husband is really creeped out right now. I discussed what I was doing with him before I started but now that I'm into it he is not sure. Ive posted some really personal things like in my Bullying post and he just wants to forget that whole time period of me being sick. I think its good for others to know so they don't make the same mistakes I did. Plus people are going to judge you regardless if they know the story or not. I tell him at least they will be gossiping about the facts and not making up their own stories. We have not told the rest of the family yet only our friends know. We don't know how they are going to react so we just didn't tell them. I will not be discussing any family things on my blog per my husbands request. It would add so much to the story but I'm not allowed to discuss and family issues online his or mine."

Describe yourself in 5 words.
"Me in 5 words would be outgoing, loyal, sensitive, fruit loop and different!"

Make sure you head over to Lucy's site and get to know her a little bit better!!

Great article. I can relate to Lucy having her husband feeling a "little creeped out". I know mine doesn't quite "get" the blogging thing either. BUT blogging is such an awesome outlet and resource for sharing info and experiences. It's like the ultimate networking meeting!

Agree with FranticMommy - blogging is a great outlet for me as well. Huge kudos for the work you do with your blog Lucy, I know your blog will help so many women out just from being yourself.

Thanks guys you are right. When I started the blog I didnt realize how much it would help me out too. Writing all the time really lets out emotion that I would normally harbor inside. It looks like it will be good for me and the readers.
